A message for my sponsor.

I have been very lucky that my employer has granted me another extended leave period of three months – the second time in four years. Alan and Jane who own and run Ego Pharmaceuticals were supportive when I told them that Linda and I were planning to do another trip. This kind of support makes it a great place to work. Admittedly, Jane did say “I wish you weren’t doing it” but I just took that as a sign of positivity of what I do when I am there. That isn’t why I am writing this bit though.

One of the reasons I like working at Ego is that their products just work, and I have had plenty of people tell me that they use Ego products because of that. Pretty simple really. I like the integrity that goes into making the products, I like that they are manufactured in Australia and they do it because it works and helps so many people. That isn’t the reason I am writing this bit though either.

On the last trip, Linda had real issues with dry skin with the bore water to the point it was hurting, and we bought some QV Gentle Wash to use and that helped a lot. So, this time I had more experience with Ego products and what we might need and made sure we had plenty of QV Bar to shower with, QV Gentle Wash, QV shampoo and conditioner, Azclear moisturising lotion with 50 SPF, Sunsense Sunscreen, Aqium sanitiser for use especially after pumping petrol almost daily and these have been working great too. Linda hasn’t had any problems with her skin this time, we haven’t been sunburnt, and we are as clean as the facilities at the caravan parks allow us to be. But that isn’t why I am writing this bit either.

The one product that we are using extensively and almost bathing in is SOOV. I react to bites and the top half of Australia does seem to like this particular juicy and plump Victorian. I am carrying it my pocket everywhere I go and applying liberally and frequently. Some of those little nasties make me react so bad that I had to resort to the next level SOOV which is the haemorrhoid cream. I had discussed with Alan the effectiveness of this product one day when by accident I had applied it to a bite that Linda had which cleared up really quickly. As Alan invented it, he explained that the normal SOOV just had something to take the itch away, but the Haemorrhoid cream had a steroid in it which also helped with the swelling and soothing the bite. So after a particularly large welt on my inside thigh wasn’t going away, I marched into the Katherine Pharmacy and proudly asked for SOOV Haemorrhoid cream. This did get a few looks, but I held my reserve and purchased the cream while explaining to the sales lady that I didn’t have a sore bottom but what it was for. She was grateful for the learning and said she will remember this in the future. So, If SOOV Haemorrhoid cream sales go up in Katherine, I want our sales team to know it is for extra strength bite treatment and not a run on sore bottoms in the area. I’ll also take a credit and commission too for working on my holidays. I would seriously like to thank Alan for the invention of SOOV – THAT is why I am writing this piece.
