Day 48. 21st June 2024. Carnarvon \ Quobba Blowholes. Not a lot of hot air.
Our stay at Carnarvon had been cut short a night due to the tour change at Coral Bay, but it didn’t seem to be a big loss. The space centre might have been interesting with their dish which isn’t as big as THE dish, otherwise it was just a bit of a bigger town where we could get some stuff done that we needed to.
We did detour an hour out of our way to go and see the blowholes at Quobba. Had never heard of them before, but when planning the trip, they came up as a thing to see – and they are great. A pounding ocean into rock and the force of water being pushed through a small hole in the rock 30 meters into the sky was mesmerising to watch. With a really rough coastline, and such forces of nature on display, it was quite amazing to walk 10 minutes around the point to find a protected swimming area with people snorkelling and enjoying the beach.
Facilities: Really good units that I would have been happy to have as an ensuite, with space and A BENCH to sit on! 9/10.
