Thankful for:
- While we had rain, heavy rain wiping out a few days here and there, we were lucky that most of the time we were in places that we could shelter. Others we talked to who were coming north in WA had rain for days and in some cases got stuck due to flooded major roads. Potholes in central Australia were significant due to flooding only weeks before we left.
- Health was good. Linda had an annoying lump on her head which got taken care of with anti-biotics, and I had scraped my ankle on coral which required some attention to avoid infection as these can get nasty.
- The car didn’t miss a beat, and the van was solid. A reliable car is essential, and the Forester has been perfect for both the trips. A service in Fremantle and some new shoes got us home safely.
- The boys coming to Freo. so we could have a family holiday. We hadn't had time like that with the 4 of us since the last lap - a real nice time to have with our adult kids.
- My work allowing me to have the time off a second time.
Items lost: 1 – A pair of my favourite Canturbury shorts. No idea where, but was annoying. On the second last night we both left our shampoo in the shower for the first time. Successfully retrieved but strange we both did it at the same time.

Value of the trip: Priceless.
