May 12 and 13 Charleville.

Mother’s Day in Western Queensland. We drove the couple of hours from Cunnamulla to Charleville, stopping in for some surprise scones with jam and cream at a funny little roadside stop. One of the things we love about travelling is the unexpected things we discover on the way. The coffee was definitely not to the standard that we are used to, but the unexpected morning tea was just lovely.

We really wanted to visit Charleville “Seargent Small Country”. No sign of the Seargent, but there was a swaggie asleep on a bench at the station.

The caravan park we stayed at had happy hour around a huge campfire each night. Such a lovely way to end the day, chatting with other travellers, enjoying a couple of drinks and some damper, while the fire provided a beautiful atmosphere.
