September 3. Sublime Brewery and Farm stay. A gig - no beaches.

On the way up, we attended a music festival at Coondoo Mountain and fell in love with rediscovered (to us) artist William Crighton. Linda found that he was playing in the same region again, and this time at a brewery that you can camp at! Perfect. We change a few plans and book in. First gig since the festival two months ago, we are a little excited. While we were having a little pre-dinner drink, a couple we met at Coondoo turn up with their dog Bernie! It was nice to be able to turn up to a place 30 minutes out from Gympie and have people you know to have a chat with. William was equally impressive as the first time. Without the band, it was a different performance, intimate and powerful. Even a couple of songs on the piano at the end make it a sublime performance. We were happy that he remembered us from Coondoo and we will make sure to see him again in Melbourne.

I love how this place is supporting live music. Put on a good band and bring in the punters. I love that it is a place that you can put your van in the yard out the back and have a good night out without having to drive home. This is even though the facilities are rudimentary. I don’t love it when the food is basic, the wines are ordinary and the beers are only OK. 3 stars, Willam Crighton 5 stars
