August 7th to 13th. Newell Beach (Port Douglas)

Newell Beach is our type of place. The beach is beautiful, with stunning sunrises over the water each morning. It was warm enough to wear shorts each day and to do lots of swimming. It is close enough to Port Douglas to make it easy to visit when we wanted to and it is also in the middle of some beautiful natural environments – The Daintree Rainforest and Mossman Gorge. We met such lovely people at the caravan park we stayed at and enjoyed good conversations with them as well as a fun birthday celebration. We didn’t get to see and do everything on this visit. Maybe we will need to return to this beautiful part of Queensland again one day.
