July 15th and 16th - Dicky Beach

We made it to Queensland…for a couple of nights on the Sunshine Coast staying at a place called Dicky Beach. Byron Bay was due to have around 58mm of rain on the day we left, so we thought it best to find somewhere out of the mud and rain.

The sky was dramatic with the threat of heavy rain in the air. A walk along the beach led us to a lot of earth moving equipment working to rebuild the beach after storm and flood damage. It is a huge amount of work to help protect this coastline from the effects of climate change.
